A day like today is difficult. The world essentially stops. Nearly all stores and restaurants are closed. It is too cold to go outside. You are essentially trapped in your home.
Being home is not bad. Spending time with your extended family can be. I am not one for small talk. If you cared about me, you would know me well enough that small talk would not be necessary.
The other significant challenge is fighting my introversion. I would love to be alone, but it is hard when our house is full of guests.
Now that everyone has left, not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse. (In reality, my sons’ iPads are always on.) I am alone with my thoughts, my endless, useless thoughts.
